How cloud storage works?

Digital data can be stored in various devices like the computer, mobile phones etc. but this data can also be stored in places that are generally hosted by the companies in a physical environment. In other words, it is a service in which the data is managed to back it up for future access. This access should be immediate even if the data is not stored in the device and a cloud that is connected to the device holds that data. There is a limited storage that is provided in this cloud.

There are many concerns among the customers regarding cloud storage. There is a need for proper encryption of data so that no other person can have an access to the data stored in the cloud. These security features have been tried to be added by the providers of the service. If a person is a future planner and the data is sensitive, cloud storage is an ideal choice to do.

Types of cloud storage

There are 3 main types of cloud storages which differ in the services that are provided.

The first type is the public cloud storage. in this type, people store their data in a cloud with the involvement of a third party which is spread in various continents. This is just like a production firm storing its products in a third party warehouse and the warehouse gives services to various firms for storage of its goods. Just like these warehouses get their payment on the basis of space provided by them to the firms, the public cloud gets its payment on the basis of the amount of data per gigabytes.

The second type is the private cloud which resembles that a firm giving warehousing facilities to all its customers. In this type the company itself provides its own cloud storages system. The organization’s firewall protects the environment in which the data is stored to ensure full safety of the personal data of people.

The third type is the hybrid cloud which is a mixture of the public and the private cloud. There are two types of storage offered in this type of storage that is the private storage for the structured data and a third party storage for the unstructured data. There are many customers that have adopted to the hybrid cloud storage. Despite of its many advantages, the hybrid cloud has some limitations regarding the technical, management and business types as these are not accessible from every part of the world by everyone.

The basis of cloud storage is the virtualized network whose interface is accessible and its flexibility. There are pools in which the data based on these clouds is stored that are managed by the premises or a third party. Every file and its components that are stored in a cloud are differentiated with a separate ID number. To retrieve the stored data, the ID has to be presented by the user to the system and he can access the data easily.
