A complete detail about SSC CGL 2018

The Staff Selection Commission conducts various exams every year based on the vacancies. SSC conducts SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC MTS, SSC Junior Engineer (JE), SSC Sub Inspector etc. SSC CGL is the abbreviation of Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate level exam.

SSC CGL is the most sought exam due to the position it offers after the appointment. In order to obtain status and security in the society, lakhs of candidates appear for the SSC CGL exams.

SSC CGL 2018 recruitment notification has been out by the SSC on 5th May 2018. SSC CGL 2018 exam details are as follows:

SSC will conduct SSC CGL 2018 for filling up vacancies for Group B & Group C posts in various departments/ministries/organizations in the Indian Government.

  • Closing date of online application submission: 4.6.18
  • Date of Tier I SSC CGL (Computer-based): 25.7.18 to 20.8.18
  • Date of Tier II SSC CGL: Not yet announced
  • Date of Tier III (Descriptive): Not yet announced
  • Date of Tier IV (Skill Test): Not yet announced

Marks scored in Tier I & II will be treated as a final score and it will forward the candidates to the next level of exams.

The pattern of Tier I &II SSC CGL 2018:

Negative Marking system in SSC CGL 2018

Tier I: 0.50 negative marking for each wrong answer

Tier II: In Paper II 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer, 0.50 marks are negative marking in Paper I, III, IV

In Tier II Paper I and II are compulsory for all the posts

In Tier II Paper III is compulsory for the Junior statistical officers

In Tier II Paper IV is compulsory for the Audit Officer Asst/Accounts officer Asst

Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test/Document verification will be conducted as per the SSC decision.

Based on the cumulative performance in Tier I & II, candidates will be shortlisted to appear in the Tier III (Descriptive Paper).

Candidates’ posts preference will be considered either online or at the time of document verification.

Aspirants who prepare for SSC CGL 2018 shall start their preparation meticulously from the announcement of notification. If you started to prepare earlier, it would be great. Try to collect recent news and read books from the basic standard for General awareness.
